Galerie Ether presents 'Encres', an exhibition of drawings by Ofer Josef, from 19 September to 21 November 2026, in Sancerre.
Having been exhibited in New York, London, Amsterdam and Paris, Ofer Josef’s work was showcased at the Arles Drawing Festival in 2026. Described as 'lush, fantastical, funny and terrifying all at once, this work exposes the flaws, vices and excesses of our era in order to better free ourselves from them' (source tourisme Sancerre)
About the artist.
Ofer Josef was born in Tel Aviv, Israel in 1965.
At the age of seventeen, in France, he became the youngest student to enrol at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He then spent a dozen years in the Amazon, including three years on the banks of the Rio Negro, somewhat isolated from people and a little closer to the animals he loves so much.
Since then, he has continued to create his visions and bring them to life on paper.
